Abstract

Traditional medicine makes use of Momordica charantia for a number of therapeutic purposes. Standard

analytical techniques were used to examine the bitter gourd's phytochemical makeup. Additionally

identified as either present or missing were phytochemicals such as tannin, flavonoids, phenolic

compounds, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, cardiac glycosides, phlobatannins, and anthraquinones. The

percentages of tannin, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, and saponins were shown in the

proximate composition.
